MIRALESTE INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL

RAISES FUNDS FOR “CAMP KEEPSAKE”

The Miraleste Intermediate School Student Council is currently in the process of raising funds for “Camp Keepsake” through weekly sales of “Jamba Juice”.  The students have sold a variety of Jamba Juice for six months and at the close of school hope to present Melissa Korfist a Miraleste teacher and Board Member for Cancer Hope Foundation, several thousand dollars.

Camp Keepsake is a program of Cancer Hope Foundation and is run twice a year by volunteers.  The camp brings together families that are dealing with a family member that has been diagnosed and is being treated for cancer.  The camp allows families to be together in a non-stressful environment, enjoying the outdoors, sports such as rock climbing, Frisbee golf as well as arts and crafts, spa treatments and many other amenities.  Most importantly, the families are together.

Andrew Mennard, President of Miraleste Student Council said, “Our Student Council voted to support Camp Keepsake in September of last year and we are still selling Jamba Juice weekly for a great cause.  We are thrilled to be doing this for families with cancer”.
